You don’t have to give up when you start losing your hair. Ageless Rejuvenation Center offers specialized medical spa services for men which includes PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) or PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) treatment for hair loss.

When it comes to addressing androgenic alopecia or male patterned baldness and thinning hair, PRP or PRF for men is a great, minimally invasive solution. In this procedure, your own platelet-rich blood is drawn and used to increase blood supply to your hair follicles. The result is an increased thickness of the hair shaft and a fuller head of hair.

Our talented team of physicians work with you to find the right solution for your hair loss. We will detail the process and ensure that you are receiving the best treatment.

The PRP/PRF Treatment

The process for PRP or PRF for men’s hair loss is straightforward. Our physicians ensure that you are fully educated on the procedure before drawing blood from your arm. A centrifuge is used to spin the blood and separated it into three layers which include platelet-rich plasma, platelet-poor plasma, and red blood cells.

After drawing the platelet-rich plasma and/or fibrin into a syringe, it is injected into your scalp. This entire treatment session typically lasts between 45 minutes to one hour.

Before treatment, a topical numbing Lidocaine solution is often applied to the scalp in order to minimize discomfort during the procedure. In other instances, a local anesthetic is mixed with PRP or PRF.

Who PRP/PRF Works For

PRP or PRF for men works for men struggling from male patterned baldness and thinning hair, but our physicians will discuss what treatment would be the best approach for you.

It is important to understand the benefits that come from receiving this treatment. There is no downtime or activity restriction after PRP for men. Patients are free to shampoo, condition, or style their hair as they usually would several hours after treatment; though it is recommended that no chemical treatments such as hair coloring be performed for 72 hours after the procedure.

Since the platelet-rich plasma comes from your body also known as autologous, the risk of an allergic reaction is minimal. Most patients do notice tenderness and inflammation for a brief period whereby the scalp remains pink and somewhat numb, but this typically subsides within a few hours. Swelling can rarely occur on the forehead or around the eye area and typically resolves within one to two days.

Our specialists would determine how many treatments you’d require based on your specific needs, but PRP for men usually requires about three treatments every four to six weeks, and maintenance treatments are needed every four to six months.
